PIP: Personal Independence Contact Number

In line with many Government Departments, the Personal Independence (PIP) Customer Service line has been moved from an 0845 Number to an 0345 Telephone Number.

This change is in line with recent policy changes around cutting usage costs to benefit claimants when calling to report a change of Circumstances to the Personal Independence (PIP) section or when they simply want to chase the progress of an application.

The new Personal Independence (PIP) Number is 0800 121 4433

It is worth noting that whilst 0345 Numbers are not technically ‘free’ they are treated in the same way as telephone numbers beginning 01 and 02 and as such will be taken from your inclusive minutes if you are calling from a mobile.

I’m worried it may affect my claim please can you help me. .

      Hi Karen,
Contact the DWP or ATOS if you have correspondence from them with a contact number & ask that your correct information be relayed to the person who carried out the assessment ~i.e… That your walking capability is between 20-50 metres & not 20-50 bus lengths. If your case has already been assessed & the data is incorrect, you can ask for a ‘reconsideration/review’ stating you wish the correct data to be taken into account. That usually only takes about 2 weeks. If that fails, you can then esculate to an Appeal Tribunal where the ‘evidence’ is assessed, independently by a Tribunal Panel. I hope this helps and allays your fear of being incorrectly assessed.
