Today we can confirm that Child Tax Credits and Working Tax Credits administered by the HMRC have officially adopted 0345 phone numbers for their customer service networks, making calls now free* (when you have inclusive minutes).

This is great news as it means that customers who want to contact HMRC to check on a Tax Credits applications, notify a change of address, complain or who need general advice won’t be charged for calls from BT Landlines and will be able to use inclusive Mobile minutes without incurring any additional costs.

You can contact the HMRC regarding your tax credits on this phone number: 0345 300 3900. The phone line is open 8am to 8pm Mon-Fri, 8am-4pm Sat & 9am-5pm Sun. HMRC states the best time to call is between Tuesday & Thursday in the morning 2am-4pm. You should contact the tax credits number for general enquires you may have or to tell HMRC about change of circumstances and finding how much and when you’ll be paid. Please be sure to have your national insurance number on hand.

Whilst the 0845 telephone numbers do remain operational, HMRC have started taking steps to change all official correspondence so that they reflect the new and potentially cheaper/FREE 0345 telephone service.
