you have extended you initial automated message to include details about the EU referendum and how it will not effect benefits. as this message plays over the dialing tone and the call isn’t classed as answered no one can get through as phones automatically hang up assuming there is no answer and it just ‘times out’. This is very annoying and of no use to anyone

Is this some sorta joke? i was promised a call back on Tuesday 26/07/2016 for 16:00 its now Thursday 28/07/2016 15:20 and still I haven’t received a call since Tuesday?! I have rang relentlessly and dread to think what phone bills I’ve occurred in doing so, No one is liable for this as they can only give a first name or alias, so i’m passed around in circles with no reassurance and uncertainty (after waiting approximately an hour in que…)

I’ve spoken to a ‘Ben’ today who semi apologised about no one calling me back and he mentioned it will definitely be today by 3 o’clock?! (adding notes on system apparently) I’m here now ringing on a landline (waiting on hold) writing and glancing at my mobile phone.

I’ve triple checked my contact number to ensure they have the correct one for me and still received no call back? I’ve escalated this with a supervisor/manager ‘David Crese’ who clearly doesn’t have any real authority. My Original certificates were sent last Tuesday, I was promised an advanced payment to my income support (similar to what used to be a crisis loan) and now i’m told they can’t do anything until documents are recieved, I’ve said well if that’s the case i will e-mail whilst on phone now?? This wasn’t an option and again I’ve been fobbed off and promised a call back.

      Hi Joe

This sounds like a nightmare! I totally get where you are coming from as I have also had the ‘3hr callback’ promise broken 4 consecutive times in a week. In the end I gave up with the telephone and fired an email directly to the manager of the office that had promised the callback and guess what… I was called back within an hour of sending.

I suggest that you grab a recent letter that you have had from the dwp and checkout the instructions at our ‘ Email the DWP page and fire the local office manager an email naming ( if possible) those that have broken promises and also listing times of calls etc as they can/will check this and give staff involved a sharp word– often gets stuff moving sharpish!

      Good luck mate!
