Don’t call them unless it’s claim ESA or starve. Seriously. I just spent 18 minutes on hold (for the hudredth time) while being subjected to endless repetitive strains of a few bars of Vivaldi which sound like a drunken night in Hell over a phone line, while being repeatedly told by some patronising robot voice that I might prefer to call back later. She then proceeds to read out the entire .gov website address while I sit wondering if I’m even in the hold queue anymore. Guess what, lady, I wouldn’t prefer to call back later. That’s why I called now. I’d prefer not to have to endure auditory rape in the name of £73.10 a week and I’d better not be paying for this phonecall. Thank God I have a job now (but you try geting hold of these people to sign off. Good luck.)

I am trying to reclaim ESA which has been stopped. Have a sick note….can’t get through on 0345 number ….what do I do please …tried ringing twice on Monday and again today. My condition makes it hard for me to stay on the phone for long periods of time. Tried again today at about 4pm….can’t get through….can you ring me? Best on home landline

  9. Eddie says:

I’ve been on hold for 3 hours, is this the way they get the numbers down…. ignore the phones and no one can claim?

Yes, that’s exactly what they’re doing. Thank the Tory government for cutting funding to public services, which naturally include, benefits calls centres.
